According to a report from CCTV on July 16, preliminary investigations by US authorities suggest that a fatal Air India crash may have been caused by pilot error. Black box recordings from the doomed flight reportedly reveal that the captain shut off the fuel supply switches controlling both engines, which could be the direct cause of the crash.

The recordings captured a conversation between the two pilots, prompting investigators to shift their focus from technical malfunctions to potential human error by the flight crew.

Air India has not yet commented on the findings, and the information awaits official confirmation.

The crash occurred on the afternoon of June 12, when a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner operated by Air India, en route from India to the UK, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat, India. The tragedy claimed the lives of over 270 people, including passengers, crew, and individuals on the ground.

Both black boxes from the aircraft were recovered following the crash. This is the first fatal accident involving the Boeing 787 model. Investigation teams from multiple countries are assisting with the inquiry.
