
Tropical Storm Nari made landfall in southern Hokkaido, Japan, at Cape Erimo early this morning (July 15). After crossing Hokkaido, it moved into the Sea of Okhotsk. The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts that Hokkaido will still be affected by strong winds, heavy rain, and high waves today, with some areas expecting rainfall of up to 120 millimeters within 24 hours.
Additionally, eastern Japan is experiencing heavy rain due to a low-pressure system, with widespread areas forecasted to receive significant rainfall. The Tokai region is expected to see up to 200 millimeters, while the Kanto and Koshin regions may receive 150 millimeters. The Japan Meteorological Agency has urged the public to be cautious of river flooding and landslides.
