Asia's first "CR7 LIFE Museum Hong Kong" officially opened yesterday at K11 MUSEA in Tsim Sha Tsui, attracting over a hundred fans to witness the glorious career of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
In a pleasant surprise, Ronaldo's elder brother Hugo Aveiro made a special appearance as the opening ceremony guest. Fans praised the wonderful exhibition and expressed hopes for Ronaldo to visit Hong Kong soon to see the football superstar in person.
The 12,000 square foot museum was personally curated by Cristiano Ronaldo himself, divided into multiple zones showcasing his career with clubs including Andorinha, Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr, and the Portuguese national team. Through 40 exhibits, it comprehensively presents Ronaldo's legendary journey from a young player in Madeira to today's global sports icon.
Authentic personal trophies and items
The exhibition areas display Ronaldo's match-worn jerseys and boots from different periods, along with 30 trophies including Ballon d'Or and Golden Boot awards - all personal trophies are originals. The museum also features 10 life-like CR7 sculptures, including his 2.38-meter tall bicycle kick from the 2018 Champions League and his classic celebration pose.
Organizers confirmed that while team trophies are replicas, all personal awards and items are genuine. The Manchester United section showcases the jersey from the 2008 Champions League final, a replica of the Premier League three-peat trophy, and Ronaldo's 2008 European Golden Shoe. Additionally, Ronaldo's first Ballon d'Or from 2008 is also on display.
The Real Madrid section exhibits a replica of one of his four Champions League trophies won between 2014-2018, and one of his three Golden Boots from his Madrid era. Among the four Ballon d'Or awards Ronaldo won with Real Madrid, the 2016 trophy is displayed, highlighting his dominant "Galacticos" period.
The Portugal national team section centers around a replica of the 2016 European Championship trophy, paired with the captain's jersey Ronaldo wore in the final. Also displayed are the 2020 "Player of the Century" award and a replica of the 2019 UEFA Nations League trophy, showcasing his leadership for the national team.
Diverse designs attract numerous fans
Portuguese tourist Vitor, who arrived in Hong Kong last night, especially visited the museum today after seeing its promotions. He praised the thoughtful museum design, calling the opportunity to see nearly all of Ronaldo's career trophies "truly incredible," and predicted the museum would become a must-visit attraction for future tourists.
Vitor plans to stay in Hong Kong for three days, with upcoming visits to Tsim Sha Tsui, Victoria Peak, and the waterfront promenade. He highly praised Hong Kong's fusion of cuisine, culture, and technology, suggesting Ronaldo should try Cantonese cuisine if he visits, and recommended the SAR government invite more top athletes to Hong Kong and organize events like Victoria Harbour water sports races to further promote Hong Kong's "mega event economy."
The museum also features interactive zones including the "UR CR7 YouTube Studio" recreating Ronaldo's personal channel filming set, and a "CR7 LIFE Photobooth" for virtual photos with CR7. Limited edition merchandise including signed posters and replica jerseys are available for sale. The museum exhibition will run until June next year.
Ronaldo's current club Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia is reportedly coming to Hong Kong in August for the Saudi Super Cup matches. If Ronaldo participates, he may visit the museum to interact with fans.
