The fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy led by the aircraft carrier Shandong concluded its five-day visit to Hong Kong today (July 7), departing from the Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base in a grand farewell.
At approximately 9 a.m., the missile frigate Yuncheng (hull number 571) raised anchor and began its departure from the dock. Naval officers aboard the ship stood at attention, waving in unison to the crowd of citizens and students gathered onshore to bid them farewell.
Sailing through Victoria Harbour, the Yuncheng frigate offered HK residents on both sides of the harbor an opportunity to witness the majesty of the military vessel up close.
A formal farewell ceremony was held at 10 a.m. at the Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base. Following the ceremony, the Yuncheng frigate and the Zhanjiang destroyer departed together, passing through Victoria Harbour as they left HK waters.
