The Standby Signal No. 1 remains in effect. The Hong Kong Observatory announced today (July 6) that over the past few hours, Typhoon Danas has accelerated its movement to the northeast, gradually moving away from Hong Kong. The Observatory plans to cancel all tropical cyclone warning signals at 2:20 pm.
The Observatory also stated that extreme heat is expected in Hong Kong this afternoon, with temperatures in several areas reaching 34 degrees Celsius or above around noon. It is anticipated that thunderstorms and heavy rain triggered by the high temperatures will affect Guangdong later today, and the hot weather will continue to impact the region in the next day or two.
The Observatory reminds citizens that there are still surges at sea, urging them to remain vigilant, stay away from the shore, and cease water activities.
