
Tesla recently announced a significant price reduction for the Model 3 in Hong Kong. The after-tax price of the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive version has been lowered to approximately HK$344,600, while the "trade-in" price has decreased by 2% to HK$249,000.
Additionally, the after-tax price of the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version has been reduced to about HK$381,800, with the "trade-in" price dropping by 14% to HK$269,000. The Performance version's after-tax price has been cut to around HK$439,300, and its "trade-in" price has decreased by 18% to approximately HK$325,300.
Tesla has also frequently lowered prices in mainland China this year. After the price reductions in Hong Kong, the "trade-in" prices are now lower than those of the mainland Model 3. The prices in China are as follows: the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive version is priced at RMB 235,500; the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version at RMB 285,500; and the Performance version at RMB 339,500.
Tesla reported that in May, it became the brand with the highest registration volume for private cars in Hong Kong, with 1,319 new vehicles registered, accounting for 30% of all new private car registrations in the region. The Model Y made up 84% of this figure.
