In celebration of the 28th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, a fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy comprising the aircraft carrier Shandong, missile destroyers Yan'an and Zhanjiang, and the missile frigate Yuncheng is visiting HK from July 3 to 7.
At 8 a.m. today (July 3), the Shandong aircraft carrier group formed a column formation and sailed into Victoria Harbour, escorted by vessels and helicopters from the HKSAR Government and the PLA Hong Kong Garrison.
On the flight deck of the Shandong, 10 carrier-based fighter jets were prominently displayed, catching the public's attention. Among these aircraft was the J-15 fighter jet model, which intercepted Japanese military aircraft.
