This year marks the 28th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland. To celebrate this occasion, a fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy comprising the aircraft carrier Shandong, missile destroyers Yan'an and Zhanjiang, and the missile frigate Yuncheng is visiting HK from July 3 to 7.
The visit includes a series of open tours and cultural exchange activities, allowing HK residents to gain a deeper and more direct understanding of the progress in the country's national defense and military development in the new era.
On the morning of July 3, the fleet entered HK waters via the East Lamma Channel. The Zhanjiang missile destroyer and Yuncheng missile frigate docked at the Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base. Naval officers and soldiers aboard the ships waved to the crowds at the pier, while local primary and secondary school students enthusiastically waved China's national flag and the flag of the HKSAR, welcoming the arrival of the fleet.
