
According to reports from CCTV News, Japan's southwestern region near Kagoshima Prefecture, including the Tokara Islands and surrounding waters, has experienced frequent seismic activity since June 21.
As of the afternoon of June 27 (local time), over 490 minor earthquakes have been recorded, with the strongest reaching a magnitude of 5.1. Seismic activity peaked on June 23 and has gradually decreased since June 26.
No casualties or property damage have been reported so far. Japanese government officials have warned that earthquakes may continue to occur and advised residents to remain prepared. However, they have denied online rumors suggesting that these seismic events are precursors to a larger and more destructive earthquake.
