To enthusiastically celebrate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the establishment of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) garrison in Hong Kong, an open day event was held at the San Wai camp on June 21 at 2:30 pm.

Accompanied by the solemn sound of the national anthem, the vibrant five-star red flag was raised at the San Wai camp, marking the beginning of the open house activities. The atmosphere was lively, with a large crowd present. Citizens gathered around display boards and various static weapon exhibits, curiously listening to detailed explanations from the soldiers. Children were especially excited, marveling at the shiny equipment and imposing infantry fighting vehicles. Many citizens eagerly approached the soldiers to learn proper military etiquette.

The following firearms honor guard performance instantly ignited the crowd. The soldiers demonstrated sharp focus and synchronized movements, their powerful shouts resonating throughout the audience. It was touching to see soldiers willingly bring over their black seats when they noticed that some citizens were standing due to limited seating, allowing them to comfortably enjoy the performance.

The infantry combat drill brought the atmosphere to another climax. Amidst the sounds of gunfire and explosions, soldiers bravely navigated through burning obstacles, demonstrating rapid maneuvering and close coordination, showcasing their fierce combat spirit.
The laser-simulated combat experience area remained extremely popular, with citizens undeterred by sudden heavy rain, eagerly lining up for a chance to experience the thrill of a "virtual battlefield." Meanwhile, the food tasting area offered a glimpse into the daily meals of the soldiers, while displayed noodle sculptures and carvings showcased the craftsmanship of the "iron men."

The military camp is not only a training ground but also a nurturing environment for talent. The activity center featured paintings and calligraphy created by the soldiers. There were also soldiers writing heartfelt blessings on the spot, gifting their works to citizens and sharing beautiful wishes through their artistry.

The people's army loves the people, and the people love the army. The alternating harsh sun and heavy rain reflected the deep bond between the military and the community. Many citizens left with souvenirs, expressing that the open doors of the military camp brought them closer together and allowed them to feel the solid strength that protects Hong Kong. They are already looking forward to the next gathering.
