Fong Kong, a famous actor in Hong Kong, widely regarded as the "villain specialist" of the entertainment industry due to his memorable performances as notorious antagonists, passed away on May 30 at the age of 78.
Fong was a former TVB and ATV actor who appeared in numerous hit dramas, including "The Challenge of Life," "Days Of Glory," and "Race-Course Fever".

Fong was best known for playing scheming and ruthless mob bosses, leaving audiences with unforgettable impressions of his sharp eyes, calculating expressions, and lifelike intensity in roles that often terrified viewers as children. His outstanding performances in the series earned him widespread recognition as HK's "villain specialist."
Despite his menacing on-screen personas, Fong led a multifaceted life. He was not only an accomplished actor but also a writer, a psychologist with a doctorate, a producer, and a dedicated advocate for the performing arts. Early in his career, Fong wrote scripts for popular dramas, including "Days Of Glory" and "The Silver Tycoon."
In recent years, Fong retired from the entertainment industry and relocated to the Mainland to enjoy his later years. He had previously battled obstructive pulmonary disease and acute heart failure but received timely treatment.

Fong once revealed that he never approached his roles as outright villains but instead focused on grounding his characters' actions in logical human behavior. "Most actors rely on a 'villainous look' to convey evilness, but I immerse myself fully in the emotions of the character," he explained.
This dedication to his craft resonated with audiences, who often found his antagonists more compelling than perfect, idealized characters. "People generally believe the world is full of deception, so perfect characters feel unrealistic. They've told me that when a villain appears, they know a good story is coming," Fong shared in an interview.
