According to a report by CCTV News, tensions between the U.S. government and Harvard University have reached new heights. On May 28, President Donald Trump once again publicly criticized the Ivy League institution.
Trump stated that he wants to "make Harvard great again," rather than having it focus on teaching basic arithmetic like "2 + 2 = 4." He lamented that even students who score the perfect 1600 on the SAT can't gain admission, yet Harvard proudly admits others while claiming to excel at teaching basic math.
Trump went on to compare Harvard with Columbia University. Although he said Columbia has engaged in "many anti-Semitic acts" and labeled it as "terrible," he acknowledged that the university is at least willing to cooperate with the federal government and seek solutions. In contrast, he accused Harvard of choosing confrontation, which he claimed only backfires.
This latest outburst is part of an ongoing clash between the Trump administration and elite academic institutions, raising questions about political interference in higher education and academic freedom.
