As global food supply chains continue to undergo transformation, the Thailand Rice Convention 2025 (TRC) is being held in Bangkok from May 25 to 27, bringing together rice buyers, traders, and policymakers from over 30 countries and regions. Hosted by the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT), the summit aims to strengthen Thailand's position in the global rice market, expand exports, and deepen trade relations with key partners like China and Hong Kong.
The convention has drawn strong international interest, particularly from emerging importers across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. According to Thailand's Ministry of Commerce, the TRC is expected to generate more than 100,000 tons of rice purchase orders, contributing over 2 billion baht in export revenue.
In this episode, we also spoke to several randomly selected delegates from different regions, asking them to share their perspectives on Thai rice and their expectations for the convention.
Special thanks to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong and Ms. Connie Leung, Special Correspondent of DotDotNews, for their special support and assistance during the Thailand Rice Convention.
