Chinese table tennis stars Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, have advanced to the semifinals in mixed doubles at the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals Doha 2025, securing at least a bronze medal.
In a thrilling quarterfinal match, they faced Japan's rising stars Sora Matsushima and Miwa Harimoto. The Japanese pair took the first game 11-6, but Wang and Sun quickly adapted their strategy and fought back to win the next three games 11-9, 11-9, and 11-9.
The final game was particularly intense, with the Chinese pair holding a three-point match lead before the Japanese duo clawed back to level at 10-10. Despite the pressure, Wang and Sun held firm to clinch the match.
As the tournament does not include a bronze medal playoff, reaching the semifinals guarantees the Chinese duo a place on the podium.
This win marks another strong showing by Team China, as they continue their dominance in international table tennis.
