In a post on social media platforms today (May 14), the Chief Executive, John Lee, said that together with the two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) signed yesterday (May 13), the two places had reached a total of 24 MOUs and co-operation agreements covering a wide range of fruitful areas, including trade and the economy, to investment promotion, financial services, aviation and the maritime industries, post-secondary education, the legal profession, sports and more.
Lee said that he and the delegation attended a high-level business luncheon in Kuwait organized by the HKSAR government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and co-organized by the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to witness the cooperation between the two places moving towards a new milestone.

Lee said the Customs and Excise Department of the two places will start mutual recognition negotiations under their respective Authorized Economic Operator Programmes to create a smoother international business environment for enterprises. The Airport Authority of Hong Kong and Kuwait Airways have signed a new MOU to enhance air connectivity between the two places and promote manpower training.
