On the same day that U.S. President Donald Trump announced a so-called movie tariff, it was also the well-known "Star Wars Day." The White House released an AI-generated image of Trump as a Jedi. However, people found something wrong with the image: Trump was wielding a red lightsaber.

In the composite image, a robust Trump holds the red lightsaber, flanked by two eagles and two American flags. The White House claimed Trump was fighting against the "Radical Left Lunatics" of the Democratic Party.
"You're not the Rebellion—you're the Empire." The White House said.

Nevertheless, Star Wars fans pointed out that the heroes in the films usually use blue or green lightsabers, while red lightsabers are reserved for characters who have fallen to the dark side, like Sith Lords. Ironically, some of those evil figures work for the Empire in the series. Netizens quipped, "Looks like even AI knows Trump is a villain, giving him a red lightsaber." "Do you guys know what it means to hold a red lightsaber?" "Red lightsabers represent power, ambition, and... what do you need?"
"Star Wars Day" is celebrated on May 4, a nod to the iconic line from the films, "May the Force be with you," which sounds like "May the fourth (May 4) be with you." The series' original creator, George Lucas, has clearly stated that the lightsabers of heroic characters are blue and green, while villains use red.

In an online poll conducted by TOI, 71% of people thought the red lightsaber in the image sent the wrong message.
