The Bun Scrambling Final, the highlight of the 2025 Bun Carnival, will take place on the night of May 5 (Monday) at the Pak Tai Temple Playground soccer pitch in Cheung Chau. Twelve finalists will compete for awards in both men's and women's divisions.

Trophies will be awarded to the champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up in the men's division, as well as to the champion in the women's division. The Full Pockets of Lucky Buns award will also be presented to the participant who gathers the most buns.

An opening ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 pm, with the main competition starting at midnight. Following the individual events, an invitation relay will occur. To accommodate a large audience, four spectator zones will be set up, with a total capacity of about 1,650 people. Free admission tickets will be distributed starting at 10 pm on a first-come, first-served basis.

Members of the public can queue at Pak She First Lane, near the Cheung Chau Fire Station, and along Ping Chong Road for tickets. Spectators must follow police and organizer instructions for entry into the zones starting at 10:30 pm.

Public notices will be displayed at Central Pier No. 5, Cheung Chau Ferry Pier, and at the entrance of Pak Tai Temple Playground to assist attendees.

The organizers will monitor weather conditions closely. If inclement weather occurs, the event may be canceled for safety reasons, and awards will be based on selection contest results. The Bun Scrambling Final traditionally occurs during the Cheung Chau Jiao Festival and will not be rescheduled.

Crowd control measures will be implemented by the police, and attendees are advised to cooperate and be patient. The Transport Department will monitor public transport demand and coordinate with ferry and bus companies for necessary arrangements.

To facilitate departures after the event, a special ferry service from Cheung Chau to Central will operate at 1:15 am on May 6, along with a special bus route No. 104R to Mong Kok from 1:10 am to 2:30 am.

Several overnight bus routes will also divert via Central Pier No. 5 starting with their first departures on May 6, with designated temporary bus stops for passenger convenience.

St John Hospital will provide emergency response manpower, and the Government Flying Service will send a search and rescue team if needed.
