WTT 2025 Finals Coming to Hong Kong
Hong Kong is set to host one of the biggest table tennis events in the world. The Hong Kong Table Tennis Association has signed a long-term agreement with World Table Tennis, bringing the WTT 2025 Finals to the Hong Kong Coliseum from December 10th to 14th.
This marks a historic moment, as mixed doubles will be included in the Finals for the first time ever. Thanks to joint efforts by the Association and WTT, Hong Kong has secured a wildcard entry, ensuring local athletes the chance to compete on the global stage.
The signing ceremony featured key figures including ITTF President Petra Sörling and Hong Kong's own star player Wong Chun-ting. With the world's top 16 men, 16 women, and 8 mixed doubles teams heading to the city, this promises to be a thrilling showcase of elite sportsmanship.
Drone Shows to Light Up the Skies for May Holidays
As the May holidays approach, Hong Kong's skyline is set to dazzle with a series of vibrant drone shows. On May 1st, Victoria Harbour will host a performance themed around traditional festivals like the Tin Hau Festival, Tam Kung Festival, and the Cheung Chau Bun Festival. Audiences can expect a mesmerising display of lights and music starting at 8 PM.
Meanwhile, fans of local pop idol Keung To have something special in store. On April 26th, a 12-minute drone show and 8-minute fireworks display will light up West Kowloon in celebration of his birthday.
And over in Tuen Mun, the Golden Coast Hydrangea Festival will run from May 1st to May 5th. On opening night, 1,288 drones will stage a romantic "Love in the Sky" performance, with popular girl group Lolly Talk appearing live.

John Lee Explores AI Innovations in Hangzhou
Chief Executive John Lee is in Hangzhou this week, exploring how artificial intelligence and innovation can shape Hong Kong's future. On April 23rd, Lee and his delegation visited the Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City, where they met six of the region's top tech firms—known as the "Six Little Dragons."
From robotics and AI to brain-computer interfaces, these companies showcased breakthroughs that could soon be part of Hong Kong's innovation ecosystem. Lee welcomed them to expand operations to the city and strengthen cross-border collaboration.
The delegation also toured a leading smart hospital, experiencing first-hand AI-powered medication delivery and robotic surgery. Lee stressed the importance of research-based innovation, noting that AI will increasingly be embedded in public services—such as digital paperwork and citizen support.
