
To further strengthen Lingnan University's global academic partnerships, University President and Chair Professor of Data Science, Joe Qin, along with Interim Associate Vice-President (Global Affairs) cum Director of Global Education, Bradley R. Barnes, and Associate Professor Li Jia from the Interdisciplinary College, recently visited several prestigious universities in the UK to explore more collaboration opportunities.
The visited institutions included Imperial College London, the London School of Economics, the University of Sheffield, Queen Mary University of London, the University of York, the University of Surrey, Brunel University London, the University of Kent, and the University of Westminster. During these visits, discussions were held with university representatives on various topics to promote close academic cooperation between Lingnan University and international partners.
Lingnan University also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Sheffield. According to the agreed terms, both institutions will develop collaborative programs in multiple areas, including opportunities for staff and student exchanges, arrangements for students and faculty to participate in short - or long - term teaching or research projects at each other's universities, and enhancing mutual visits to expand cooperation fields.
President Qin also met with Mr Ding Mingqin, Minister Counsellor for Science and Technology Affairs of China's Embassy in the United Kingdom, to discuss Sino-British cooperation in science and technology and the transfer of achievements.
