During the 2025 Bay Area media event in Shenzhen, global journalists visited Ubtech Robotics, where they were greeted by two iconic robots: Walker C, the first embodied intelligent guide robot for the China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo, and Youyou, the panda robot ambassador from the Dubai Expo.

Walker C demonstrated its agility by sprinting at 6 km/h, navigating slopes, and shaking hands with reporters using its dexterous hands capable of handling flexible materials. Meanwhile, Youyou showcased its visual recognition skills by fetching drinks and performing a fluid Tai Chi routine, highlighting the precision of its 41 high-performance servo-driven joints.

Ubtech's Chief Business Officer, Tan Min, revealed that the company has already received over 500 orders for humanoid robots in 2025, with annual shipments expected to surpass 1,000 units, half of which are designated for industrial applications. While current models operate at about 40% of human efficiency, Tan projected advancements to 60–80% by year-end. He emphasized Shenzhen's rapidly growing "Robot Valley," nestled between Yangtai Mountain and Tanglang Mountain, where industry giants like Ubtech, Dobot, and RoboSense thrive alongside emerging leaders such as Kenqing Tech and Pudu Tech. The area's ecosystem integrates nearly 10 universities and hundreds of robotics supply chain firms, creating a hub where "upstairs and downstairs neighbors form upstream and downstream partners."

Tan outlined Ubtech's long-term vision to leverage Guangdong Province's eight existing trillion-yuan industrial clusters, aiming to establish robotics as the ninth within 10–20 years. "By serving these clusters, we believe Ubtech can first dominate locally before becoming a global leader in humanoid robotics," he stated. The company's roadmap underscores Shenzhen's ambition to solidify its status as China's robotics capital through innovation, academic collaboration, and a robust supply chain network.
