The world's first humanoid robots half-marathon kicked off today (April 19) in Yizhuang, Beijing. Standing at 1.8 meters tall, "Tiangong Ultra" claimed the championship with a finishing time of 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds, making history as the winner of the inaugural humanoid robot half-marathon competition.
"Tiangong Ultra," the winning robot, measures approximately 1.8 meters in height and weighs around 55 kilograms. This year, it not only increased its maximum speed from 6 km/h to a peak of 12 km/h but also became smarter through its integration with the general-purpose embodied intelligence platform.
Wei Jiaxing, the spokesperson for the Tiangong team, explained: "To achieve this outstanding result in the marathon, we overcame technical challenges such as body stability, lightweight design, and joint overheating during prolonged activity. Additionally, we optimized motion control algorithms to enhance joint coordination, gait stability, and the ability to navigate complex terrains. During the race, 'Tiangong Ultra' maintained a pace of 7-8 km/h."
