
Ted Kotcheff, the Canadian moviemaker who moved gracefully among genres to direct such notable films as The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, First Blood, and Weekend at Bernie's, has died. He was 94.
Kotcheff, who went on to spend 13 seasons as an executive producer on the gritty Dick Wolf seriesLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit, died Thursday (April 10, local time), The Globe and Mail newspaper reported.
Kotcheff's family confirmed his death to the public, but did not disclose a specific cause.
