The trough of low pressure now over central China will develop into a cold front tomorrow (April 12), according to the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO).
With the cold front moving southwards, the associated showers and severe squally thunderstorms are expected to affect the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary during the day tomorrow.
Showers will be heavier in some areas, and there will also be violent gusts. Under the influence of the northeast monsoon associated with the cold front, local winds will strengthen from the north tomorrow afternoon with winds offshore and on high ground occasionally reaching gale force.
HKO also noted that temperatures will drop significantly from a maximum of around 25 degrees to a minimum of around 17 degrees on Sunday (April 13) morning. Considering that Coldplay's last show will be tomorrow, members of the public should take note of the latest weather information.
