AlipayHK has become the city's most comprehensive e-wallet for bill payments, now supporting nearly 500 merchants across a wide range of services, the company announced today (April 7).
From utilities (water, electricity, gas) and telecom bills to taxes, broadband fees, Housing Society rent, and property management charges, AlipayHK also covers niche payments such as tutoring fees, driving school tuition, parking fines, and student loan repayments. Users can pay by scanning an FPS QR code on government or institutional bills via the app's "Scan" function or by searching the "Bill Payment" section and entering a bill number.
The platform rewards payments with A. Points, redeemable as cash or vouchers, while offering interest-free installment plans for tax payments. New features include bill reminders and auto-pay, with first-time repayment users receiving HK$10 vouchers. Credit card repayments also waive fees for the first HK$
Tax season promotions, AlipayHK reported a 90% YoY surge in tax payments for 2023/24, with over 40% opting for credit card or installment plans. A limited-time offer from now until April 30 allows users to claim tax deduction vouchers (up to HK$1,175) daily at noon via the tax payment section.
Additionally, Ant Bank is running a lucky draw: users who pay taxes over HK$5,000 or apply for installment loans can enter up to seven times, with top prizes including HK$5,000 cash rebates or travel vouchers.
With its expanding ecosystem and user perks, AlipayHK continues to drive Hong Kong's cashless payment adoption.
