IShowSpeed, a popular American YouTuber with over 38 million followers, created a massive stir during his brief visit to Hong Kong on April 4, drawing large crowds of young fans. During his stay, HK police received at least three reports related to fan frenzy, involving disruptions to public order and property damage.
During his HK tour, Speed and his fans repeatedly caused disruption, including running onto roads and creating dangerous situations. In the afternoon, while Speed was traveling on the MTR, large crowds gathered at stations to follow him. Some fans even stopped escalators, damaged turnstiles, and evaded fare payments.

The Hong Kong Police confirmed receiving at least three reports related to the events. MTR Corporation also verified incidents of escalators being deliberately stopped, turnstiles damaged, and fare evasion at Tin Hau Station. Both the police and MTR staff condemned the behavior.
According to Speed's YouTube livestream, his day began with sightseeing on Hollywood Road and a visit to Man Mo Temple in Sheung Wan. Upon leaving the area, Speed was surrounded by a large crowd of fans. Concerned citizens reported the scene to the police, citing safety concerns. By the time authorities arrived, the crowd had dispersed. This case has been classified as a "disturbance complaint."
Later, Speed rode HK's iconic tram to Sheung Wan and entered the MTR station while being surrounded by fans. Security guards formed a human chain to keep fans at bay, but the situation remained chaotic. Fans packed the platform, singing loudly, which visibly annoyed Speed. At one point, he was seen swearing in frustration during the livestream.

When the train arrived at Tin Hau Station, Speed disembarked, and some fans displayed disorderly behavior. Reports indicate that individuals ran the wrong way on escalators, jumped turnstiles to avoid fares, and generally disrupted the station's operations.
Police stated that at 3:46 p.m. and 4:02 p.m., MTR staff at Tin Hau and Fortress Hill Stations filed complaints after the YouTuber's presence attracted approximately 500 fans, causing severe overcrowding at both the concourse and platforms. Staff also discovered damaged turnstiles after Speed left Tin Hau Station. These incidents are being treated as disturbance and criminal damage cases.
The MTR Corporation also reported that at around 3:30 p.m., a crowd gathered at Sheung Wan Station to board a train heading to Tin Hau Station. Although overall train operations were not severely affected, the chaos at Tin Hau Station, including escalators being stopped, turnstile damage, and fare evasion, prompted the MTR to file police reports. The company condemned these actions and called for responsible behavior.
