According to CCTV News, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol addressed the nation today (April 4), expressing deep regret for failing to meet expectations. Earlier in the day, South Korea's Constitutional Court delivered its ruling on Yoon's impeachment case. All eight constitutional judges unanimously concluded that Yoon had seriously violated the Constitution and the law. At 11:22 a.m. local time, the court officially announced Yoon's removal from office.

Yoon Suk-yeol is now the second South Korean president to be impeached and removed from office, following Park Geun-hye's impeachment in 2017. The Constitutional Court judges stated that Yoon's declaration of martial law violated the Martial Law Act. The court determined that Yoon's actions, which included deploying military personnel to intervene in the National Assembly, violated the Constitution. Additionally, the arrest of political figures was deemed unlawful.

The court further ruled that Yoon had breached his constitutional duty as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. By declaring martial law, Yoon infringed on lawmakers' rights to deliberation, voting, and immunity from arrest.

The court concluded that Yoon's violations were severe and unacceptable under the law.
