We arrived in Mandalay in the evening and first went to the Yunnan Guild Hall to assess the situation there. Shortly, we learned that CCTV was live broadcasting at the scene and mentioned that there was a survivor, so we immediately rushed to the spot. Unfortunately, we were a bit late, but it was still very uplifting to hear that they had successfully rescued a 52-year-old man.
Afterward, we returned to the Guild Hall to rest for a while. We then received a message from the SAR rescue team, indicating that there might still be other survivors at that site.
As journalists, we felt it was our duty to cover the news, so we went back to the scene once again.
After nearly ten hours of search and rescue, many rescue teams were exhausted and could only rest in place. Sadly, the miracle did not happen again. Around 4:50 AM Hong Kong time, they announced the end of the search and rescue, having not found any more survivors.
