
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake occurred near the waters off Chichijima Island in the Ogasawara Islands at approximately 8:55 a.m. local time on April 2.
The maximum seismic intensity recorded was 1 on the Japanese Shindo scale. Authorities have confirmed that the earthquake poses no tsunami risk.
