JD.com has ramped up its expansion in Hong Kong with the launch of a new recruitment program for local merchants. On April 1, JD.com announced that starting immediately, HK-based merchants can join the JD app's HK-Macao platform with "zero commission" and no annual fees for an entire year.
According to JD.com's latest merchant onboarding policy, HK-based businesses serving consumers in the HK and Macao regions will be exempted from annual fees and commissions from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
Merchants interested in joining JD.com simply need to submit their store information and qualification documents. Once approved, they can start their business on the platform at no cost.
JD.com also pledged to provide comprehensive support to merchants, including store setup guidance, operational assistance, and traffic support, helping them establish their stores easily and achieve rapid growth.
The company stated that this initiative aims to enable more HK merchants to access JD.com's high-quality user base and resources. Additionally, by reducing operational costs for merchants, JD.com seeks to offer HK consumers a wider range of products, more affordable prices, and better services, contributing to the prosperity of HK's retail market.
