
A leading France-based professional aeronautic services company, Elior Group SA, announced today (March 21) its intention to strengthen presence in Hong Kong. It had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), as an important step in expanding its business in Asia. Witnessed by the Financial Secretary, Mr. Paul Chan, the MoU was signed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of AAHK, Mrs. Vivian Cheung, and the Group Chairman and CEO of Elior Group SA, Mr. Daniel Derichebourg, on February 19.
The partnership will explore professional services such as aircraft dismantling, parts recycling and related training in HK, thereby developing HK into the first aircraft parts processing and trading center in Asia.
Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan expressed confidence in HK's ability to play a more significant role in the aviation sector. She noted that this initiative aligns with the country's goals for high-quality development and global engagement.
Chan welcomed the collaboration between Elior Group SA and the Airport Authority, emphasizing that introducing aircraft parts processing and trading services would enhance HK's status as an international aviation hub, supporting the aviation growth of the country and the entire Asia-Pacific region.
Daniel Derichebourg, Chairman and CEO of Elior Group SA, highlighted the company's extensive operations across 11 countries, spanning industries such as aviation, construction, and contract catering. He affirmed that the company is actively seeking opportunities in HK as part of its strategy to further expand into the Asian market, marking a key step in its growth plan.
