
An arson case was reported at Hong Kong International Airport on Tuesday evening (March 18). Around 6:00 p.m., airport staff alerted the police after discovering burned clothing inside a fashion store located on the departure level. Clothing in a neighboring fashion store was also found burned.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and succeeded in extinguishing the fire by 7:08 p.m. The Fire Services Department determined that the fire was suspicious in nature.
Following an investigation, police arrested a 22-year-old Nepali man on suspicion of arson, linking him to both incidents at the two stores. A lighter was found in his possession.
No injuries were reported.
