A netizen posted on Facebook, claiming that they ordered a coconut chicken pot at a Thai Hainan chicken restaurant in Mong Kok, only to receive a dish filled entirely with chicken necks! The post sparked heated discussions online, with many criticizing the restaurant, stating, "Even a dog wouldn't eat this."
The poster shared their experience in the Facebook group "Bad Restaurant Guide," explaining that they ordered a coconut chicken pot for HK68, along with an additional HK$68, along with an additional HK$18 for chicken oil rice and a drink. However, when the dish arrived, they found only two chicken feet inside, with the rest being chicken necks. Photos showed that all the chicken meat had been removed, leaving just a clear broth filled with chicken necks. The poster angrily declared that this was not a "chicken pot" but a "chicken neck pot"!
Other netizens echoed the criticism, stating, "Even a dog wouldn't eat this," "How much do you charge for dog food?" and "It's quite amusing that it's all chicken necks-this deserves some attention." Some even mocked, "They gave all the chicken necks to you, so you'd be the only one to complain. If they divided it among everyone, there would be many complaints, so they just dumped it all on you."
In response, the restaurant later rebutted on Facebook, stating that the customer had complained during the meal, and they promptly replaced the dish with another coconut chicken pot. They insisted that the chicken necks shown in the photos were leftovers from two pots combined, arguing that the customer was being "dishonest and misrepresenting the situation."
