In the evening of March 15, 2025, the CCTV "3. 15" gala was broadcast. The second industry disorder exposed in the evening was: the non-sterile disposable underwear.

Market as a "New Choice for Business Travel" and boasting "EO Sterilization, Wear Without Washing," disposable underwear became a hot-selling product in 2025 due to its convenience and hygiene. But is the reality behind its booming sales truly as advertised?

In January 2025, a reporter visited Shangqiu City, Henan Province, where informed individuals revealed that several clothing manufacturing companies in the area produced non-sterile disposable underwear that was falsely labeled as sterilized. Despite the product packaging indicating "cotton" material, the actual material used was "polyester." Some models of disposable underwear were even labeled as "100% cotton," seriously deviating from the truth.

Posing as a buyer, the reporter contacted Mengyang Apparel Co., Ltd. The staff led the reporter through dim, narrow stairs into the company. In the production workshop, the reporter witnessed workers handcrafting disposable underwear without proper sterilization procedures. Raw materials were haphazardly stored, with fabric piled alongside garbage and debris. Disorderly woven bags were filled with disposable underwear ready for market distribution. The reporter visited over ten production manufacturers in Yucheng County, Shangqiu City, observing that the haphazard production practices were prevalent. Finished disposable underwear was carelessly stacked, and workbenches were used as dining tables. Inside the workshop, workers sprayed a special liquid onto the underwear. Company staff informed the reporter that the liquid sprayed on the disposable underwear was actually a strong, quick-drying detergent for cleaning, with an unpleasant smell and not meant for direct skin contact.

At Jianzhichu Medical Devices Co., Ltd., employees informed the reporter that the company offered "processing on behalf" services. They had produced disposable undergarments branded as "Dr Chu," "Beiziyan," and "Lansha," with cost-cutting measures leading to the omission of sterilization procedures for some products.
