Taiwan media have reported that actor Darren Wang (Wang Talu), aged 33, was spotted at Taipei Main Station this morning (March 13) at 8:56 a.m. He joined other conscripts boarding a train to Taichung, where he is set to begin his one-year military service.
According to reports, Wang is expected to arrive this afternoon at the Chenggongling Camp to undergo basic training.
Wang appeared in a dark blue beanie, a black face mask, and an army-green long-sleeved sweater. He remained silent when approached by the media for comments.
Previously, Wang was embroiled in a controversy over alleged draft dodging, for which he was released on bail of NT$150,000. He also faced accusations of inciting an assault on a driver, leading to his detention on charges of bodily harm. The court eventually granted his release on bail of NT$5 million.
