Born in Hong Kong, Ha began acting in films in 1953 while juggling multiple roles. In addition to working as a clerk for a foreign trading company, he participated in theatre and broadcasting. In 1957, he joined Rediffusion (Hong Kong) Limited as a broadcaster. After marrying, he had two children, Sandra Ng and Ng Kwan-cheung, and temporarily stepped back from the entertainment industry to support his family, working in restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, and office jobs. He made a formal return to the industry in 1969, serving at Rediffusion Television Limited and Asia Television Limited for 30 years.
Besides hosting variety and women's programs, Ha starred in popular series such as "The Rise of the Great Wall - Emperor Qin Shi Huang," "All in One Family," "Crocodile Tears," and the "Justice Pao" series, as well as "Forrest Cat." In recent years, he also participated in film productions, with notable performances in "All's Well, Ends Well 2012," "Hotel Deluxe," "Hello Babies," and "All's Well, Ends Well 2009," which left a lasting impression on audiences. However, he is most remembered for hosting the live broadcasts of the Mark Six lottery from 1976 to 1993. His unique hosting style became a classic in the industry, earning him the nickname "God of Wealth" and the title "Father of the Mark Six."
