According to reports from Global Times, citing foreign media, US President Donald Trump purchased a brand-new red Tesla Model S electric vehicle on March 11 outside the White House, signaling his support for Elon Musk and Tesla Inc.
This move comes after Tesla's stock price recently experienced a significant drop. On the night of March 10, Trump stated on social media that he would buy a Tesla the next day to show his support for Musk and his electric car company.
Multiple Tesla vehicles, including the Model S, Cybertruck, and Model Y, were reportedly delivered outside the White House by midday. Trump ultimately chose the Tesla Model S.
He said he would write a check for approximately US$80,000 to purchase the car and leave it at the White House for staff use. Trump also hoped his purchase would help boost Tesla's stock price.
