The MTR Corporation in Hong Kong is reportedly exploring the possibility of allowing passengers to bring pets onto trains, following a similar move by Kowloon Motor Bus with its "pet-friendly bus" service last year. According to a report by HK01, the MTR is currently studying pet-friendly measures, with a decision expected as early as mid-2025.
It is understood that discussions within the company had taken place years ago about introducing "pet carriages." Initial proposals suggested that pets might only be allowed during non-peak hours or on holidays, and potentially limited to designated MTR lines in New Territories regions. However, these plans were eventually shelved.
