
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred this morning (March 8) in Tuen Mun, where a 68-year-old cyclist lost his life after being struck by a taxi.
The incident happened at 6:25 a.m., when a 73-year-old man driving a taxi along Castle Peak Road – Lam Tei section towards Yuen Long reportedly hit the cyclist at a pedestrian crossing near 121 Castle Peak Road – Lam Tei.
The cyclist suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital unconscious. He was pronounced dead at 7:31 a.m.
The taxi driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death and is currently detained for investigation.
