According to NBC, US President Donald Trump was spotted with a noticeable bruise on the back of his right hand during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House on Feb. 24. According to the White House, the bruise was caused by Trump's relentless work schedule and frequent handshakes.
"President Trump has bruises on his hand because he's constantly working and shaking hands all day, every day," says Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary.
Reports indicate that similar bruises or swelling on Trump's right hand were observed during other events in August and November last year. In December 2024, Time Magazine quoted Trump as saying, "It's from shaking hands with thousands of people."
