A fire broke out at a restaurant located at 4-6 Yee On Street, Kwun Tong, at around 4 p.m. today (Feb. 25), sending thick smoke billowing into the air and causing minor injuries to a 70-year-old female staff member.
The blaze occurred in a cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style tea restaurant) and prompted an immediate response from the fire department. Firefighters dispatched a breathing apparatus team and used one water jet to extinguish the flames.
The injured staff member, who sustained minor burns to her hands and face, was sent to United Christian Hospital for treatment.

Following an initial investigation, firefighters attributed the cause of the fire to a grease duct ignition. Authorities confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
