Today (Feb. 25), InnoHK's Hong Kong Generative AI Research and Development Center held the global launch of the HKGAI V1 model.
In his speech, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Sun Dong, highlighted that the launch of DeepSeek earlier this year had a profound impact worldwide. Building on this foundation, the research center team swiftly combined DeepSeek's base model architecture with HKGAI's exceptional data processing capabilities, showcasing Hong Kong's unique advantages under "One Country, Two Systems" and leading to the release of HKGAI V1.
Sun emphasized that artificial intelligence is driving a new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation. The Hong Kong SAR government is proactively responding by establishing an AI supercomputing center and launching a HK$3 billion AI funding scheme.
He further stated that over 800 AI companies have gathered in Science Park and Cyberport, attracting numerous talents and enterprises to Hong Kong. Sun noted that Hong Kong is actively participating in this technological wave represented by artificial intelligence.
Recently, HKGAI completed the development of its V1 model, which is the first national model based on DeepSeek's full parameter fine-tuning and continuous training. This model leverages unique local data, achieving localization and international adaptation for DeepSeek while promoting open-source and domestic compatibility.
