Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP) is set to open on March 1. On Feb. 24, Cathay Pacific and Kai Tak Sports Park held a cooperation launch ceremony at the Sports Park's Health and Wellness Centre, hosted by Cathay Pacific's Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, along with KTSP Project Director John SHARKEY, and various guests.
After the ceremony, a lighting event was held at the Sports Park's main venue, where exterior panels were illuminated in green and white, featuring a globe design and phrases like "Began at Kai Tak" and "Back to where it all started." Cathay Pacific announced its role as Kai Tak Sports Park's exclusive partner.
This partnership will integrate Cathay Pacific branding into the "West Bridge," connecting the MTR Sung Wong Toi Station to the venue, and aims to create the Greater Bay Area's first outdoor aviation-themed time tunnel, linking the community with Cathay Pacific's roots in Kai Tak.
Lavinia Lau highlighted that Cathay Pacific's journey began in Kai Tak, an important part of Hong Kong's collective memory, and announced that the airline's destinations will exceed 100 this year. John SHARKEY stated that the park is ready for its grand opening ceremony this Saturday evening (March 1) after several test events.
