A traffic accident occurred in Ma On Shan early this morning (Feb. 21). At 6:46 a.m., an unladen school bus was traveling along Kam Ying Road when it lost control near Kam Ying Court. The bus veered off the road, crashing into roadside railings, and the left side of the front end mounted the pedestrian walkway.
The driver was found unconscious inside the vehicle. A passing driver noticed the situation and called the police.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the driver unresponsive. He was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin for emergency treatment but was later pronounced dead.
The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
