Regarding the water mains incident on Connaught Road Central near Jubilee Street, the Water Supplies Department (WSD) posted on social media platforms today (Feb. 19) that, after the efforts of the engineering team to carry out emergency repairs, the relevant water mains repair works had been completed at noon, and the affected potable water supply was being resumed gradually.

During the incident, the WSD dispatched water tankers to inject water into the water tanks of the affected large commercial buildings, such as Jardine House, Exchange Square and the International Finance Centre (IFC), so that their water supply was not affected during the incident. As the IFC had utilized the original reserve water in its water tanks to maintain water supply before the water tanks were filled with water from the water tankers, its fresh water supply had not been affected throughout the incident.

The WSD said that it would then commence the relevant road rehabilitation works with a view to fully re-opening the affected roads before the peak hours tomorrow morning.
