Sources told Hong Kong Wen Wei Po that the China-Thailand-Myanmar trilateral working group will finalize the repatriation details on Feb. 19, after Liu Zhongyi, Chinese Assistant Minister of Public Security, went to Myawaddy to learn about and discuss the process of transferring Chinese suspects involved in the electronics deception parks to Thailand and escorting them back to their home countries.
It is expected that the first batch of 200 repatriated Chinese suspects will be escorted back to China on Feb. 20. Preliminary information indicates that China will send six flights to carry out the escort mission.
Sources told Hong Kong Wen Wei Po that the escort mission is planned to be carried out by China Southern Airlines, which will send aircraft similar to the Boeing 737 cabin layout to fly the mission. According to the previous escort method, each aircraft is expected to carry 50 suspects involved in electric fraud and 100 police officers responsible for security.
As Mae Sot Airport has only five civilian parking slots, and Mae Hong Son Airport has a similar number of slots, the source said, it could not be ruled out that the two airports would be used at the same time without affecting normal civilian operations.
