Korean pop star Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) held his "STILL RAINING tour" in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on the night of Feb. 15, marking his return to the region after 9 years. On the stage, he led the audience to pay tribute to Taiwan actress Big S (Barbie Hsu), who passed away earlier.
It was reported that after singing "Rainism", he suddenly put his shirt back on and said seriously, "I really want to say this to everyone, I really feel sorry for DJ Koo, he was a very respected artist in K-POP in Korea, and we all really feel very sorry for him when something like this happens." He continued, "The one who passed away is my sister-in-law, although I have never met her, but I have come here, and I hope that I can be here with everyone to pay tribute to her for 10 seconds of silence."
Rain said that although he was in Taiwan, he was unable to meet with DJ Koo in person and could only pray for him. He also repeatedly expressed his respect for DJ Koo, saying that he was a great senior and a person of integrity and kindness.
Hsu passed away in Tokyo on the 2nd of this month due to influenza-induced pneumonia and was buried on Feb. 14. She and DJ Koo met back in 1998, reunited after 20 years, and eventually married in 2022.
