Ocean Park held a ceremony today (Feb. 15) to celebrate the half-birthday of the giant panda twins. Chief Executive John Lee posted on social media that Hong Kong now has a total of six giant pandas, making it the place outside of mainland China with the most giant pandas in captivity.

"The government will continue to seize the opportunities presented by the pandas to actively promote 'panda tourism' and enhance Hong Kong's appeal as a vibrant city."

He also mentioned that the caretakers shared insights about the growth, appearance, and personality traits of the siblings over the past six months. The older sister is lively and loves to climb, while the little brother enjoys exploring nooks and playing with plants.

Lee expressed gratitude to the experts from the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center and the animal care team at Ocean Park for their attentive care, noting how heartwarming it is to see the twins grow step by step.

Additionally, Lee mentioned that citizens can see the giant pandas starting tomorrow (Feb. 16). Starting from noon today, they can also participate in a naming contest for the panda twins by suggesting suitable names, with the results to be announced in the first half of this year.
