Ocean Park Chairman Paulo Pong stated today (Feb. 11) that the park plans to construct a giant panda museum in the future to enhance public interest in these animals.
Pong noted that since the arrival of giant pandas in Hong Kong in 1999, there are many stories to share. The museum will feature numerous exhibits, including letters related to the care of panda cubs, and will include an auditorium for hosting large international conferences on panda conservation. The museum is expected to be built in phases.
A pair of Hong Kong-born giant panda twins will officially meet the public this Sunday (Feb. 16). Pong mentioned that they are still considering crowd management strategies and hope to arrange for as many visitors as possible to meet the twins. He also suggested that visitors come on weekdays or during off-peak hours. Additionally, the park will introduce private booking options and premium tours, allowing residents and tourists to view the twins before the park officially opens at 10 am, aiming to boost the park's revenue.
