
The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles reported on Feb. 13 that, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, a Chinese student studying at a university in Southern California was unfortunately murdered recently at their off-campus residence. The case is currently under intensive investigation.
The Consulate General attaches great importance to the safety of Chinese citizens in its jurisdiction and is deeply shocked and saddened by the unfortunate murder of the Chinese student. It also extends heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to the victim's family and strongly condemns the criminal actions of the perpetrator.
The Consulate has urged the US side to expedite the investigation and bring the perpetrator to justice as soon as possible. The Consulate is also maintaining close contact with the family, coordinating with the university and others to provide active assistance in the aftermath, and will continue to closely follow the progress of the investigation and provide necessary support to the family.
