
This morning (Feb. 5), an engineering vehicle broke down near Tai Wo MTR Station and stopped on the track opposite Sam To Hang, affecting the service of the entire East Rail Line.
All southbound and northbound trains of the East Rail Line have to use Platform 1 to drop off passengers when they arrive at Tai Wo Station, and the relevant stations, including Tai Wo Station, have also closed individual entrances and exits to implement crowd management measures.
The station and platforms at Tai Wo Station were crowded with passengers, and a female passenger felt sick and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance staff using a stretcher.
The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. MTR said that engineering staff are still trying to deal with the incident.
Train service on the East Rail Line has been adjusted and updated as follows: Admiralty Station to Fo Tan Station every 4 to 8 minutes; Fo Tan Station to Tai Po Market Station every 8 minutes; Tai Po Market Station to Lo Wu Station every 16 minutes; and Sheung Shui Station to Lok Ma Chau Station every 24 minutes.
